Rachel Comey Store, Los Angeles
Known for a highly considered approach to fabric and form, Rachel Comey places equal weight on design and responsibility. In collaboration, we worked closely to find the perfect natural rug to ground the fitting rooms of their LA store, bringing warmth, tactility, and a sense of place to the space where customers experience their garments.
What was it about Nodi that was appealing to you as a designer?
Here at Rachel Comey, we focus a large part of our development time on sourcing the right fiber and creating interesting and ethically sourced fabrics for our customer's needs. The same approach was taken for our interior decisions at our Los Angeles store. It's always wonderful crossing paths with a company with a similar attention to detail in the interior space. Nodi's rugs are the perfect compliment to our dressing room experience.
How do the rugs work with the design of the store?
We appreciate the rug's texture against our rattan dividers, bricks, and black tiled floor. We are always drawn to colour, too, and we loved the way the rugs are a blend of earthy tones.
What was your design brief you were trying to fulfill with the dressing rooms?
The overall combination is about creating a private area for our clients to feel comfortable and inspired.
